Vermont 2019
I was up on plymouth rd in shrewsbury VT target practicing this sunday since it was so bright, warm and sunny out
while shooting I kept hearing something in the brush behind me at first down near the marsh/swamp
then to my left or west afterwards 10 minutes or so later
I never heard anyone or anything cross from the marsh across the road behind me to move in that direction into the thick woods
Unless it happened while I was shooting with the ear muffs on
At the end of the road, the 2 roads form a “T” to give you an idea of the area
with all the leaves on the trees and thick bushes I could not see anything, but I kept hearing the brush moving around though to my left or west
I was there maybe a half hour at most, I stopped shooting to start collecting all the brass casings on the ground left by others
This led me up the road to the gate. I proceeded since there was more brass up there
That’s when the winded shifted from the west, thats when I smelled what was the odor of dead rotting fish
There is a swamp nearby but Im not sure there are enough fish from the wrong direction to create that smell. The swamp/marsh was to my south, not westerly
I felt as if I was being watched, the hairs on my neck stood on end
So that’s when I decided to leave
Maybe it was Bigfoot or maybe it was nothing I am not sure; I wasn’t sticking around to find out
I don’t know of any animal I have ever hunted that is not afraid of gunshots, so what in the world would move closer to a person shooting a .22 pistol
There were no others on that road I observed on my way out
