Southern Ohio, 1972

My brothers and I would spend the summers with my gramma who live in southern Ohio in the country where the closest Home to us was a mile away. She had no tv or phone so we spent a lot of time in the woods. One morning my grandma said to us boys if you go up in the hills and pick some blackberries she would make us a cobbler. We took our buckets up the hill a quarter mile from the house and we found a large blackberry patch. We were picking when we heard this deep grumbling noise like some thing was talking to us or trying to. I looked up and on the other side of the bush was the top of the head reddish hair yellowish eyes. That’s all I could see because the bush was two feet taller then my 12 year old body. We dropped our buckets and ran home and never went back into the woods. We told gramma and she said that’s just the wild man that comes to the fence at night sometimes but don’t worry he never crosses the fence. I hope this info helps in your research.
