​Olympic National Forest, 1970s

We lived in the deep woods of the Olympic National Forest, in the Quinault area on the Washington peninsula and we experienced a number of things that were quite scary.  Once we were all playing on some old broken machinery at an abandoned saw mill (in a very remote area) just before dark and we all felt weird like we were being watched. We heard some strange kind of chuckling/mumbling in the woods and started yelling at the area it was coming from and soon rocks and big sticks were flying and landing behind us! We thought maybe older brothers or someone and started yelling again and then MUCH bigger rocks and sticks came thru the air and we heard strange noises like animals- almost like wild boar sounds- and we all took off as fast as possible and ran back to the house. Our parents (who were drinking and playing cards or dominoes or whatever) were like "well, better stay in the yard or inside then" and went on like no big deal. That was just one of the times I'm pretty sure I was meeting sasquatch!
