Milo, Oklahoma 12/20/20 4am
On the morning of December 20th 2020, at approximately 4am I had gotten up out of bed to get ready to go to work, while getting ready I had noticed a howling sound, at first I thought it was one of my children crying on the other end of the house so I walked out of the bathroom and listened and didn’t heard anything. I then opened the back door and heard coyotes howling and assumed that was it and went back to getting ready. Only a minute or two later I was dressed and out the back door and that’s when I heard it start howling again, it was loud and very different sounding than the coyotes I was hearing too. I live in a very rural area with just a few neighbors. My parents have a place just across the pasture and as this thing was howling I could hear their dogs barking at it. I have heard this a couple other times in the past, it seems to only come in fall and winter. Theres nothing but woods, creeks and farmland for miles where I live. My house is only 3/4 miles from caddo creek which is a fairly decent size waterway, and just 15 miles north are the Arbuckle mountains, so there a lot of wilderness here and I believe it’s home to a few hairy men. I was able to get my phone out of my pocket and get the voice recorder going just in time to catch the last of one of the long howls and what sounds like to me whoowah at the end. It never howled again after that, I really wish I could have gotten it on sooner because there were several really long and loud howls I heard that morning. Thank you very much. I can send the recording.
