Night fishing up on Toms mountain 1/4 mile climb up flattened out north side another climb 200 yards up to lake 2 surrounded by woods the left had a huge steep climb up a ridge ran along the left lake 1 sat in a bowl totally blocked from the wind at about 3 am I heard something coming from on top of the ridge moving defensively and evasivly slow I thought deer and kept fishing the cows had left us an hour earlier went up to lake 2 and about an hour later the fish stopped biting so I grab a pole and the minnow bucket and the lantern I was gonna fish the left side there was a hole I knew about and I knew fish would be there info to make my move to the left I turn the corner when I out the lantern up to see my spot and a cinnamon colored creature crouched down right hand in the water cupping it's hand as if it were getting water to drink it froze I froze as well it turned it's head over it's left shoulder slowly to see me and as he did he lat out a low curdling growl and his mouth slowly opened I seen 4 canine teeth and regular squared teeth as well eyes yellow 🟡 he let out a snoot like he was disgusted that he'd been spotted we'd never night fished up there before he slowly glanced at me then a little off to the left was the woods 3 feet away he was like a deer in the headlights so to speak so was I about 7 to 71/2 foot tall not sure he was crouched down on two legs hair/fur was layered 3 to 4 inches I hear my dad and uncles say what is that you see that Jeff as I hear them I yell run now down the mountain now and I bolt I turned to glance once he was still froze as if he didn't know what to do and I never looked back I jump off the edge and lift the lantern and crash into my family and down the mountain we go I remember feeling like at anytime one if us would be snatched up this thing was all muscle impressive but not huge as others I'd heard stories about we struggled to get our legs back under us so scared never so scared in my life what I'd seen I've told my story to a couple organizations but I always leave the one detail out that scared me to death when I turned and seen this creature it had a baby deer held down with it's left hand as it were getting water with it's right hand from the lake only 35/40 yards this thing was close looking back I guess I was down wind from this thing and it never smelled me on the way down like I said I was sitting in like a bowl so I don't know for sure but what a sight never felt so hopeless ever in life!!!!!!!
